Jensen Beach High School concert
hits charitable note
PRESS RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 4, 2008
The Jensen Beach High
School band program will strike up the songs and
the spirit of the season during its annual
Holiday Concert, 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the school’s
auditorium, 2875 NW Goldenrod Road.
The concert is more than a
holiday concert, it is a charity concert: The
price of admission will be canned goods or a $5
donation. The food will go to House of Hope and
the financial donations will benefit Toys for
Tots
“This could easily be a
fund-raiser for the band,” said Kevin Landry,
the Band Booster Club president. “We have been
struggling in our own fund-raising, but we are
committed to making this a charitable event to
give back to the community.”
The concert will feature
performances by the high school’s concert band,
jazz band, color guard and marching band.
For information about the
concert, please contact Kevin Landry, Band
Booster Club president, at (772) 260-6897 or
Thomas Dougherty, director of bands, (772)
232-3500, ext. 219.
House of Hope is a
community service agency that provides food,
clothing and emergency financial assistance to
Martin County’s poor. For more information about

### Follow-up note from
Mr. Landry on Dec. 11, 2008: "I just wanted to
thank you for assisting us with the publicity
for the above referenced. Our attendance last
night exceeded all previous attendance numbers.
As a result, our collection of food items
increased (at least) two-fold."
