House of Hope mixes fashion, philanthropy
PRESS RELEASE DATE: FEB. 12, 2009
House of Hope is inviting
members of the community to join its
one-of-a-kind fashion show 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
March 5 at Mariner Sands Country Club.
The 10th Annual Fashion
Show, Luncheon and Silent Auction mixes fun,
fashion and philanthropy. Adding sparkle this
year is House of Hope’s “Silver Celebration” –
marking the agency’s 25th anniversary of serving
people in need in Martin County.
During the luncheon event,
volunteers will model designer fashions donated
to House of Hope’s “Resale Shoppes.” Featured
fashions will be for sale, and a silent auction
will be filled with items designed to pamper
attendees. The highlight is a 5-day/4-night stay
at a grand resort on the Caribbean island of
Grenada, donated by the Grenada Board of Tourism
in conjunction with the Grenadian by Rex
Resorts.
Tickets for the event start
at $50, with patron-level tickets priced at $75
and a table of eight available for $500.
The event benefits House of
Hope programs that provide food, clothing, case
management and emergency financial assistance to
people in need.
The emcee will be Sue
McVeigh of Smith Barney. House of Hope board
member Terry Carder and his wife, BJ, are the
hosts; BJ Carder also is coordinating the
models, fashions and commentary.
Sponsors and underwriters
include Bobbie Trimble, Senior Home Companions,
KVAR America, Renova Day Spa & Salon, Jim &
Elaine Matts, and Judy Rosenthal.
For information or
registration, contact House of Hope at (772)
