House of Hope calls for golfers,
sponsors
PRESS RELEASE DATE: MARCH
19, 2009
House of Hope is seeking
players and sponsors for its 14th Annual Golf
Tournament of Hope at The Yacht & Country Club
of Stuart on Friday, April 17.
This annual event enables
House of Hope to raise needed funds while
participants enjoy a well-organized round of
golf on one of Martin County’s best courses.
The cost of the event is
$500 per foursome, or $150 per player. Play will
begin with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. on
April 17. The format of the Tournament of Hope
is a four-person modified scramble, with men’s
and ladies’ divisions.
In addition to the golfing,
the entry fee includes a box lunch and an awards
reception with hors d’oeuvres, great prizes and
auction items. Participants will also have the
chance to win a hole-in-one prize of a golf cart
donated by Professional Golf Car Corp.
The success of this golf
fund-raiser is more important than ever. Over
the past two years, House of Hope has seen an
80% increase in requests for emergency help from
struggling families, single parents, senior
citizens and veterans. The proceeds from this
event will help House of Hope change lives by
helping with the most basic human needs – food,
shelter and clothing – for scores of Martin
County residents in need of temporary
assistance.
Tournament of Hope
committee members include Marty Carmody, Frank
Doyle, Bob Berg, Charlie D’Agata and Doni Haas.
