Golf tourney success is good timing
for House of Hope
PRESS RELEASE DATE: MAY 112, 2010
In a positive response to the rising demand for
services at House of Hope, the funds raised at
the agency’s annual golf tournament were double
that of the year before.
The 15th annual Tournament of Hope
netted $22,500 and was held April 23 at Piper’s
Landing Yacht & Country Club in Palm City.
The success of this golf fund-raiser was more
important than ever. Over the past two years,
House of Hope has seen an 80% increase in
requests for emergency help from people in need.
The proceeds from this event will help House of
Hope provide food, financial assistance and
life-changing case management services for
hundreds of Martin County residents --
especially the children of struggling families.
The Tournament of Hope generally changes venue
each year, but participants enjoyed the course
and hospitality of Piper’s Landing so much that
plans are being made to return to the club next
year.
The leading foursomes were as follows:
-
Men's 1st Gross: Roy
Long, Gerald Janelle, Nick Vassalotti, Ian
Murray
-
Men's 1st Net: Rob
Missimer, Rob Crowder, Don Dougherty, Drew
Pittman
-
Ladies 1st Net: Jane
