House of Hope seeks golfers, sponsors

PRESS RELEASE DATE: MARCH 12,, 2010

House of Hope is seeking players and sponsors for its 15th Annual Tournament of Hope, which this year will be held at Piper’s Landing Yacht & Country Club on Friday, April 23.

This annual event enables House of Hope to raise needed funds while participants enjoy a well-organized round of golf on one of Martin County’s exclusive courses.

The success of this golf fund-raiser is more important than ever. Over the past two years, House of Hope has seen an 80% increase in requests for emergency help from people in need. The proceeds from this event will help House of Hope provide food, financial assistance and life-changing case management services for hundreds of Martin County residents -- especially the children of struggling families.

The cost of the event is $500 per foursome or $175 per player, with many sponsorship and underwriting opportunities available.

Here’s the lineup for this year’s tourney:

  • 11:30 a.m. – Registration and buffet lunch.

  • 12:00-1:00 p.m. – Putting contest, sponsored by FPL.

  • 1:15 p.m. – Shotgun start (four-person modified scramble).

  • After play – Awards reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres.

  • The tourney also features a silent auction and hole-in-one prizes.

Marty Carmody is the chairman of the Tournament of Hope committee, which also includes Bob Berg, Kathy Carmody, Frank Doyle, Brad Larsen, Elaine Matts and Diane Pacelli.

For more information, call (772) 286-4673, or visit www.hohmartin.org/golf.html, where registration and sponsorship forms are posted.
