House of Hope welcomes
new board members

House of Hope’s latest
board members bring a wealth of business acumen
and volunteer experience to the agency.
Within recent months, Steve
Cargill, Tony Lang and Stephen Schramm have
joined the board of directors, adding expertise
and contacts that are vital to the agency as it
attempts to meet the needs of Martin County
residents struggling through hard times.
Steve Cargill: Mr.
Cargill led Pratt & Whitney’s Florida
Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Development and
Applications Group for 27 years, retiring from
the company in 2000. Presently he provides NDT
hardware and engineering services through his
own company, Aerospace Structural Integrity Inc.
In addition to his longtime professional
commitments, Mr. Cargill has been a member of
JupiterFirst Church for more than 20 years,
leads a Bible study program there and serves on
the church’s managing council. Mr. Cargill also
has extensive volunteer experience with the Boys
& Girls Clubs of Martin County, one of House of
Hope major agency partners.
Tony Lang: Mr. Lang
has decades of experience as a certified public
accountant and as a leader in strategic planning
for companies and non-profit organizations in
the Cleveland, Ohio, area. Mr. Lang has served
as the executive director of the Catholic
Diocese of Cleveland Foundation and as
administrative assistant to the Bishop of
Cleveland for financial matters. In Martin
County, he has served as a member of the board
and president of Mariner Sands Country Club and
Homeowners Association. Mr. Lang already is
serving as an officer of the House of Hope board
of directors – bringing his financial expertise
to the position of treasurer.
Stephen Schramm, CFP,
CPA/PFS: Mr. Schramm is a principal and senior
financial advisor in the Stuart office of HBK
Sorce Financial LLC and Hill, Barth & King LLC.
Mr. Schramm specializes in personal financial
advisory services based on the belief that all
of a client’s tax and financial issues are
interdependent and must be addressed in a
holistic solution. As a House of Hope board
member, Mr. Schramm serves on the Business
Development Committee. His wife, Colleen, and
their children also are active volunteers with
House of Hope as well as at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, a strong community partner with House of
Hope.
Returning members of the
House of Hope board of directors include Frank
Doyle, president; Barrett Jones, vice president;
Elaine Matts, secretary; Marc Baldinger; Charlie
D'Agata, Laurel Kelly; Sue Kinane; Brad Larsen;
and Father Noel McGrath.
House of Hope is a
nonprofit agency that provides food, clothing,
case management and emergency financial
assistance to Martin County people in need. The
agency is Martin County’s largest provider of
food to the hungry, and serves as a safety net
for hundreds of families, working people and
senior citizens who are struggling through hard
times.
