Fashion Show
House of Hope is
cultivating “Cupid’s Garden” as the theme for
the 12th Annual Hearts for Hope
Fashion Show, Luncheon and Auction, to be held
11:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at Mariner Sands Country
Club, Stuart.
Amid a charming interior
landscape, volunteers will model designer
fashions that have been donated to House of
Hope’s Resale Shoppes. The featured fashions and
more will be on sale after the show. Attendees
also will have a chance to bid on lavish auction
items, including unique jewelry and accessories,
delicious restaurants, fabulous getaways, and
pampering spa packages.
Individual tickets are $75
each, and sponsorships are available ranging
from $300 to $3,000. Seating is limited to 250
people this year to provide the best experience
for all. For tickets and information, call (772)
286-4673 or visit
www.hohmartin.org.
In conjunction with the
event, House of Hope will be conducting a
drawing for a $2,000 travel voucher from Jensen
Beach Travel Service. Tickets will be $20 each
or 6 for $100. The prize is being underwritten
by Senior Home Companions.
Proceeds from the event
will support House of Hope programs that provide
food, clothing, case management and financial
assistance to Martin County people in need. The
nonprofit agency serves as a safety net for
thousands of families and senior citizens
struggling through hard times.
The Fashion Show puts a
special focus on single mothers and their
children – a segment of the population
struggling with a nearly 60 percent poverty
rate.
Elaine Matts is the
chairwoman of the event, and the presenting
sponsor is the Pedersen Family Foundation.
Other major sponsors
included longtime benefactor Bobbie Trimble and
the Law Office of Lauri Goldstein. In addition,
Cove Gardens and Country Club Florist are
donating plants and services to bring “Cupid’s
Garden” to life.
Volunteer extraordinaire
Randi Zabriskie will return to coordinate the
modeled fashions and provide commentary. Randi
is a part-time Mariner Sands resident who owns
an exclusive women's clothing boutique in
Aurora, NY, called Jane Morgan's Little House.
Also returning as emcee is
Sue Whittington of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
