Businesses bring Christmas cheer
for House of Hope kids
PRESS RELEASE DATE: JANUARY 10, 2012
Children of families served by House of Hope
enjoyed a special holiday party in Jensen Beach,
complete with ice cream, Christmas carols, a
fire truck and Santa riding in on a motorcycle.
Each year local businesses team up with a
restaurant to host the party. House of Hope’s
Jensen Beach location invites children to
participate, along with kids from Hibiscus
Children’s Center.
This year’s celebration was held Dec. 12 at
Jan’s Place, and owner Jan Trudel was honored
for founding the event 18 years ago. The
restaurant provided dinner and ice cream, while
the Ladies Power Lunch Bunch, Jensen Beach
Travel Service and Treasure Coast
Harley-Davidson of Stuart offered gifts and
goodies.
Members of Martin County Fire Rescue brought a
fire truck for the kids to see, and the Jensen
Beach Elementary School chorus led the group in
singing Christmas carols.
A big highlight was Santa Claus arriving on a
Harley, accompanied by Mrs. Claus and helpers
from Treasure Coast Harley-Davidson of Stuart.
The event is a treat for dozens of children,
whose families are struggling in many ways.
House of Hope is a nonprofit agency that
provides food, clothing, case management and
financial assistance to Martin County people in
need. The agency is Martin County’s largest
provider of food to the hungry, and serves as a
safety net for thousands of families, working
people and senior citizens who are struggling
through hard times.
