Sound -- scene of the annual
Celebrity Bartenders event --
hosted another "party with a purpose" for House of Hope on May 2, 2010.
The volunteer-driven event netted
$2,200. The entry fee was $15 for an all-you-can-eat
hog roast, with an auction, raffles, music & more. Taste
owner Craig Kingston and volunteers including Steve
Wakefield and Royce Towner provided the cooking and labor
for the day.
Music was by
The Nouveaux Honkies, a hot band out of
Port Salerno that blends blues, swing and country. The band,
featuring founding members Tim O'Donnell and Rebecca
Dawkins, is a quartet made up of musicians on violin,
guitar, bass and drums. The Nouveaux Honkies have
rapidly soared in popularity, releasing acclaimed CDs and
embarking on crowd-pleasing tours.
The fund-raiser will help House of Hope
provide food, clothing, financial assistance and
life-changing case management services to Martin County
residents in need – including families with children, senior
citizens and people going through sudden life crises.
