Yes, we can also accept fruits and vegetables grown in your garden or on your farm if they are in edible condition. For more donation FAQs scroll to the bottom of this page.

Clothing & Household Items
Thrift store donations may include clothing, household items, and furniture. Please do not leave donations without confirming that an HOH representative knows they are there! PLEASE NOTE that at this time all thrift donations must be brought to The Hope Shop Thrift Store in Stuart, as listed below.

Our thrift stores can also make use of your clean paper, plastic, or reusable shopping bags to pack customer merchandise in. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

Keep it Clean
PLEASE! We ask that all donated items be in good condition without holes, tears and stains. Items also should be in good working order, with all parts included. House of Hope does not have the resources to clean and repair donated items. Despite your best intentions, some items are unusable and House of Hope incurs a cost to dispose of them.

Limitations
At this time our thrift stores are unable to accept:

  • Big, bulky televisions and computer monitors that are not flat-panel.
  • Cassette tapes or records
  • Fax machines, phones, etc.
  • Toilet seats or portable toilets

How your Donations Help
Donated items are either given directly to people in need, passed along to an appropriate agency — such as those serving children, veterans and homeless people — or they are sold in our thrift stores to support our assistance programs to Martin County residents.

Thrift store sales account for about 45% of the income to House of Hope, so your donated items are an important part of giving HOPE a hand in Martin County.
