House of Hope is excited to invite Martin County students to participate in the “Stamp Out Hunger Student Art Contest”!  Use your creativity and talent to raise awareness about the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive and the issue of hunger facing our community.

About the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the largest the nation’s largest single-day food drive, organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC).

This annual event provides food to local food pantries throughout the county, and House of Hope is fortunate to be the main recipient in Martin County. Letter carriers will place plastic bags in resident’s mailboxes for them to fill up with nonperishable food items. Then, on May 12, 2018 residents place these bags next to their mailboxes where they will be collected by their letter carrier. Throughout the day a team of volunteers help prepare the food items for future distribution in House of Hope’s four food pantries – Stuart, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach and Indiantown.

Stamp Out Hunger delivers about 65,000 pounds of food to House of Hope. This has become an essential way for us to keep our shelves stocked during the summer when children are not receiving school lunches and many workers have their hours cut back because of seasonal employment.

House of Hope will award two grand prizes:

The two grand prize winners will receive a $50 Visa gift card, a tote bag with their artwork, and a plaque of recognition.

The two winning pieces will have their artwork printed on limited edition reusable tote bags that will be available to purchase and/or order.

ALL submitted student art submissions will also go on display at the House of Hope Stuart Welcome Center following the contest.
